General Discipline

• Every student should possess the prescribed text books and note books and should bring them regularly to the class as per the time table. All books should be neatly covered and labeled.
• The School Uniform – Steel Grey shorts, sky blue shirt, tie, belt, black shoes and navy blue socks for boys of Class VII and below. Steel grey pants, sky blue shirt, tie, belt, black shoes and navy blue socks for boys of VIII to X. Steel grey skirt, sky blue shirt, tie, black shoes and navy blue socks for girls. The uniform has to be neat and tidy.
• Every student must look after his/her own belongings. It is not advisable for students to have money or valuable articles with them. All the students should be in proper uniform, neat and tidy.
• The school is not responsible for articles lost by students in the premises.
• Chewing gum is prohibited on campus. Usage of plastic bags and covers are also prohibited on campus.
• Students are strictly forbidden from taking part in politics.
• Students are advised not to bring undesirable books, magazines, newspapers, electronic gadgets (Camera, Cellphone, C.D., I Pods, I Pads, Laptops) etc. to the school. Violation of this would invite serious action.
• Students are strictly forbidden from writing to one another. All the letters of students with the school address will be censored by the Principal before they are handed over to the students.
• The school also advises students against maintaining accounts on social networking sites like Facebook, Twitter, Orkut, etc. This is to avoid wastage of time on unnecessary matters and also to protect them from the lurking dangers of the site. Parents are advised to make sure that their children do not misuse the internet. When students invite their classmates for birthday parties and get togethers, they are advised to take the permission of Bro. Principal and also that of their friends’ parents . In case they plan to have it outside their homes, it has to be under the supervision of their parents and with the prior permission of the Principal.
• The school does not hold itself responsible for injuries sustained by pupil while in the school. However, firstaid will be rendered immediately and injuries necessitating Hospital/OPD treatment will be attended to without delay.
• No pupil may receive private tuitions. Parents are urged to encourage their children to do their daily work diligently and honestly and pay utmost attention to studies in the classroom. If there is real need for help, they are advised to contact the Principal.
• Parents are encouraged to have their children undergo medical examination regularly for general well being, especially dental, eye, ear and skin care.
• No student shall indulge in any of the following practices:-
• a) Spitting in or near the school building except where provision is made.
  b) Disfiguring or otherwise damaging school property.
  c) Rowdyism and rude behavior
  d) Use of violence in any form
  e) Use of obscene language and hurting the modesty of others.
• Serious violations of rules, regulations and discipline of the school are punishable, including removal or expulsion from the school.
• Fines, which may be deemed necessary to be imposed on the students, are only to improve or enforce discipline.
• Pupils may be required to take part in various co-curricular and extra-curricular activities outside school hours also. When so required, participation will be deemed compulsory.
• It is mandatory that students attend all the functions of the school. However, for the Annual Parents’ Day non-participants are advised to stay back at home to allow the parents to enjoy the programme. Nevertheless for the Annual Sports Day all the students are expected to be present.
• Parents are expected to give adequate time to their children to help them in their studies, provide them with a quiet place for study, insist on home work time, free from distractions, check with teachers when assignment or other instructions are not clear, encourage them to do their best as far as accuracy and neatness is concerned, encourage them to read books at home and collect material which will help them in their education and over all development.
• English being the medium of instruction the students are encouraged to speak English even while conversing with peers and friends.
• Each student’s safety and all round development is a major concern of the school. Therefore the following should be strictly observed :
• a) Parents are requested not to come in the lunch break to feed their children. The dining together that happens during the lunch hour will go a long way in enhancing comradeship among students and peers.
  b) Parents of pre-primary students are required to teach the children their name, address and telephone number.
  c) If a child has to leave the school during school hours, he/she will be given permission to leave only if the parents come to take him/her. In case they are unable to come, they need to send an authorization letter through the person they depute for this purpose.
  d) Students are instructed not to ride bikes and drive cars. Apart from going against traffic regulations, it is also risky for school children/students to handle such vehicles.
• Good social etiquette in terms of body language and mannerisms should form a part of a student’s behavior in class, on campus and outside the school premises. Any reported or observed objectionable conduct outside the school on the part of the pupils will make them liable for disciplinary action. It is expected that through their good behavior they must enhance the prestige of the school. Parents are advised to inform the Principal about any problems they may be facing or may have been facing regarding their children. Please bear in mind that it is only with the sincerity and openness of the parents that the school will be able to help the child to become a well adjusted person, with strong character and right attitude. It is needless to say that disclosures thus made will be treated with utmost confidentiality.
• Classroom Decorum
• a) Students will ensure that the desks and chairs are properly placed, litter is not strewn around and walls, doors, and furniture are not converted to writing space.
  b) While debate and discussions are vital for learning, students must ensure that they should not disturb the neighbouring classes.
  c) Students are not permitted to consume water or foodstuff when class is in progress.
  d) Class leaders must ensure that all windows are closed, lights and fans switched off when leaving the class for outdoor activities or at the end of the day.
  e) In the absence of the teacher from the class-room, pupils are required to observe silence and obey the leader of the class.
  f) Students are not allowed to enter classrooms other than their own.
• Progress and Promotion: The daily progress of the student is assessed by the teachers by means of oral tests and assignments. It is also tested by means of unit tests and terminal examinations at regular intervals, during the year as indicated in the institutional plan. Corrected answer scripts of all the subjects are also distributed to the children each time. Parents are requested to go through them, sign and return the same.

Principal’s sanction is required

– To make any collection for any purpose whatsoever.

– To arrange for a meeting, party, picnic, etc.

– To leave the school premises during working hours.

– To join a sports meet or to play in a tournament outside the school.

– To arrange for private tuition by a teacher of the school.
